DETROIT — The Jets will be woefully thin at wide receiver for Sunday’s game with the Lions.

Adonai Mitchell is inactive for the game after injuring his finger Thursday in practice. Mitchell practiced Friday on a limited basis but had a large wrap on his right hand. He was listed as questionable for the game.

Mitchell is the latest receiver to go down for the Jets. Omar Cooper Jr., Tim Patrick and Arian Smith are already on injured reserve.

Without Mitchell, the Jets have the following players at receiver: Garrett Wilson, Isaiah Williams, Sterling Shepard, Jamaal Pritchett and Malik McClain. Only Wilson and Williams were on the active roster last week against the Packers.

The Jets signed McClain and Pritchett to the active roster this week and elevated Shepard, the former Giant, from the practice squad on Saturday. McClain and Pritchett figure to see more time on special teams than on offense.

The Jets may need to lean on rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq to have a bigger role. Fellow tight end Mason Taylor (thumb) is not playing Sunday.

Mitchell is second on the team with nine catches for 123 yards.

Another surprise inactive for the Jets is cornerback Nahshon Wright, who the team signed as a free agent in the offseason. He has yet to play on defense.

Rookie cornerback D’Angelo Ponds and edge Joseph Ossai are active and will make their season debuts.
