For the past two months, Sunday nights have belonged to HBO‘s Lanterns. The gritty superhero drama starring Kyle Chandler as original Green Lantern Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as his would-be replacement John Stewart has charmed comic book nerds and newbies to the saga with its stellar acting, wild twists, and grounded approach to otherworldly material.

Last week’s penultimate episode of Lanterns ended with the “Halogram” (i.e. Kyle Chandler playing a slightly younger “back up” version of the recently murdered Hal) and John Stewart journeying to a terrifying planet on the other side of the universe. Here, they encounter water and mist that makes you confront your greatest fear — but that’s not all. Sinestro (Ulrich Thomsen) is also on this strange world, but why?

Lanterns Episode 8 is the last episode of the show’s first season. We still don’t know for sure who killed Hal Jordan and why, nor do we know how Sinestro escaped the Guardians’ prison on Oa. Will the Lanterns season finale finally give us answers?

Here’s everything you need to know about when the next episode of Lanterns comes out on HBO and HBO Max…
