Dak Prescott glares at employee who calls Cowboys loss ‘embarrassing’ in tense tunnel scene

Dak Prescott and the Cowboys were embarrassed at home against the Buccaneers on Thursday night, but they don’t want to hear it from a stadium employee immediately after the game.

The Cowboys came up way short in a 24-16 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who had undrafted rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels making his second career start on a short week – and a person who was believed to be a stadium staffer or valet car driver let Prescott hear it as he walked back to the locker room.

“Embarrassing,” the person said to Prescott as he walked by, which prompted their star quarterback to stare him down as he neared the locker room. “He heard me.”

Prescott then responded to the employee’s comment.

“He say it once I looked off, huh?” Prescott replied.

Prescott threw an interception on the Cowboys’ final offensive play, targeting Jake Ferguson for the sixth time and with the tight end recording at least his second drop of the game, which proved fatal.

After the game, Prescott discussed the employees’ comments with reporters.

“Not that they’re wrong,” Prescott told reporters about the fiery interaction.

“But the thing was, I don’t know if it was an employee or a driver. Whoever it was, he’s free to speak his mind. When he said it, I just happened to look at him. When I turned my head back, he said something else. That’s the part that you know just as a man or just a person, feel free to speak your mind. Just speak it. Don’t cower away from the reaction you’re going to get… Just say it… I hate that it’s even being talked about, to be honest with you.”

Head coach Brian Schottenheimer also didn’t sound thrilled to be discussing the comments after the loss.

“I didn’t say I didn’t take it as disrespect. You said that,” Schottenheimer told reporters. “I said it’s motivating. People are allowed to say what they want to say.”

Dallas now has a long 10 days to prepare for the Packers on “Sunday Night Football.”
