NYC mom charged with murdering her 5-year-old after confessing to 911 operator: ‘I killed my daughter’
The mother of a 5-year-old girl found lifeless inside her Queens apartment was charged with murder – after she chillingly confessed to a 911 operator, “I killed my daughter,” cops and sources said Friday.
Francis Cabello, 32, — wearing a long white gown and sneakers — stayed mum as detectives led her out of a police precinct and guided her to a waiting car to take her to Queens Criminal Court for her arraignment.
Police charged Cabello with murder Thursday evening, a day after little Fabiana Cabello was found unconscious and unresponsive inside the home on 110th Street near 95th Avenue in South Richmond Hill.
“She’s upstairs not breathing,” the mom told first responders when they arrived, according to law enforcement sources.
EMTs arrived to find the girl lying face-up with blood coming out of her nose and a weak pulse, cops and sources said.
She was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, but could not be saved.
A neighbor who identified himself as Carlos told The Post that he saw Cabello after, describing how she “was not crying” and “it was like nothing happened.”
Cabello’s father told The Post she had psychological issues and had recently stopped taking her medication.
“I was paying attention because she was already acting strange,” he said Thursday. “I knew that she stopped taking the medication. I used to tell her to take her medication. She said the doctor authorized her to stop taking the medicine.
“I found it hard to believe because in her predicament I was surprised that the doctor would authorize that without seeing her,” he said. “I did not know if it was true or false.”
Police were called to the home in April 2025 for an alleged child abuse incident involving the mother and daughter that was deemed unfounded, sources said Friday.
In May, police responded to an “emotionally disturbed person” call for Cabello, and she was taken to the hospital for an examination, according to the sources.
