Most voters blame Trump for high prices, want Congress to check prez: exit poll

Exit poll results released Tuesday evening offer bleak data points for Republican candidates, with about 70% of respondents telling the Associated Press that they want Congress to do more to check President Trump, while about 60% blame him for higher prices.

The results, released less than one hour before the first polls closed, found that three-quarters of voters were “angry” or “dissatisfied” with the direction of the country and that six in ten disapproved of Trump’s performance.

Trump has urged voters to act as if he’s on the ballot and polling suggests that Republicans are at risk of losing both the House and Senate — potentially derailing both Trump’s legislative priorities and nominations while miring his final two years in office with congressional investigations.
